Dermal filler

Jawline treatment

Definition along the jaw border, the angle beneath the ear, and the soft dip that forms in front of the jowl.

Volume — the honest number

A jawline result usually needs 2ml to 4ml across both sides. That is more than most people expect, and it is a cost and a risk consideration rather than an upsell. We would rather you heard it at consultation than discovered it halfway through a treatment plan.

Duration is around twelve months.

Downtime

Bruising for three to seven days, and higher along the jaw border than most areas. Swelling for three to five days. Tenderness for up to two weeks.

Risks specific to the jawline

The facial artery crosses the jaw border, and the vessels of the chin and prejowl are in range. Injecting onto bone reduces but does not eliminate that risk.

Over-filling a heavy lower face makes it heavier. This is one of the most commonly regretted treatments in aesthetics, and if we think that is where it is heading we will say so.
