Anti-wrinkle treatment

The medicine used is a prescription-only medicine. It cannot be advertised, chosen from a menu or bought online — it is prescribed for you personally by Dr Badri after he has assessed you. What we offer here is the consultation.

What it does

A very small amount is placed into specific muscles, reducing how strongly they contract. The muscle does not stop working; it works less hard. Lines that form with movement soften, and the skin above them gets a chance to recover.

It will not do anything for lines that are there when your face is completely still and relaxed. Those are a skin quality or volume problem, and we would talk to you about a different approach.

Not every area is licensed. Some of these are established, widely used treatments that sit outside the product's UK licence. Where that applies, Dr Badri will tell you at consultation, explain why he is recommending it anyway, and record your consent to off-label treatment. We think you should be told that rather than left to assume everything is licensed.

What happens

You can book this appointment directly — you do not need a separate consultation first, even if you have never been here before. Your medical form and consent are sent to you beforehand, to do on your phone.

The appointment itself starts with the consultation: your medical history, what is bothering you, what is realistic. Dr Badri then assesses and prescribes. This is a prescription-only medicine, so that assessment happens every time, and occasionally the honest answer is that treatment is not appropriate — in which case your deposit moves or is returned in full.

Treatment itself takes about ten minutes. The needle is very fine; most people describe it as a series of quick scratches. No anaesthetic is needed and you can drive afterwards.

When you will see it, and how long it lasts

Nothing happens immediately. The first change is usually noticeable at three to five days, and the result settles at two weeks — which is when we review it. That review is free.

It typically lasts three to four months. Not longer, whatever you may have read elsewhere. Some people find the interval lengthens over time with regular treatment, because the muscle is habitually doing less.

Downtime, honestly

Small raised bumps at the injection points for fifteen to thirty minutes. Redness for an hour or so. Bruising is possible with any injection — usually small, occasionally not, and it can take up to a week to fade. Some people get a mild headache for a day or two.

You can go back to work. Do not book anything important within two weeks if the result matters for it, because two weeks is when you will actually see what you have.

Risks

• Eyelid or brow droop. The best-known complication, caused by the medicine spreading slightly beyond the target muscle. It is uncommon, it is temporary, and it resolves as the effect wears off — but temporary here means weeks, not days.
• Asymmetry. One side settling differently from the other. Usually correctable at the two-week review, which is part of why the review exists.
• An expression you did not want. Too heavy a result in the forehead can lower the brow. That is a judgement problem rather than a product problem, and it is why we treat conservatively first.
• Headache, flu-like symptoms for a day or two, tenderness at the injection sites.
• Rare: allergic reaction, or spread of effect causing weakness in nearby muscles.

Not suitable if

You are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a neuromuscular condition such as myasthenia gravis, have an infection at the treatment site, or take certain antibiotics. All of this is covered at consultation.

Under-18s cannot be treated. It has been a criminal offence in England since October 2021 to provide these treatments to anyone under eighteen for cosmetic purposes.

Aftercare

Stay upright for four hours. No rubbing or massaging the area that day. No gym, sauna or hot yoga for twenty-four hours. Avoid facials or facial massage for two weeks. You will be given this in writing, and a number that reaches us.
